10/23/24 | Xander Bogaerts feeling the heat from Padres after leaving Red Sox for big contract. Xander Bogaerts left the Boston Red Sox organization as a free agent after the 2022 season, which has been a huge blow to his former team. Boston's shortstop position has been unstable since Bogaerts' departure and the team's offense has been lacking. Meanwhile, Bogaerts has been to the playoffs since his tenure with the San Diego Padres began. The Dodgers eliminated San Diego in the NLDS after its offense screeched to a halt in Games 4 and 5. 10/11/24 | Xander Bogaerts makes premature Red Sox comparison to Fernando Tatís Jr's Padres run. The San Diego Padres have posted an electric playoff run so far. Their series against the Los Angeles Dodgers has everything — grand slams, elite pitching, home run robberies, rivalry spats, and much more. But Fernando Tatís Jr.'s performance, in particular, has been incredible to watch. His teammate, former Boston Red Sox Xander Bogaerts, agrees. He compared Tatís to one of the most clutch playoff performers of all time. “David [Ortiz] did it a long time,” Bogaerts said. “But for how young he is, you don't see many people doing what he's doing right now. He's really putting us on his back right now. It's special to see.” Tatís' offense has been a huge part of San Diego's success. 10/07/24 | San Diego Padres baseball bling showcases Friars' sense of flair. The Friar Faithful turned out last week by the thousands to support their beloved boys of summer (and fall), and there's been a plateful of iconic imagery added to the Padres history books. Whether it's the casual flip of a home-run hitting bat by Fernano Tatis Jr., or Xander Bogaerts or Jackson Merrill rounding the bags during their home-run trots, though, the sluggers are all doing it in style, as are their brethren on the mound. Many of the Padres players have taken to accessorizing their official uniforms with eye-catching necklaces that showcase their unique identities, some of it high-end, some of it just swaggy, all of it reminiscent of the Slam Diego surge and the attendant chunky chains. Many of the players have been spotted this post-season wearing gold necklaces that nicely complement the Friars gold-and-brown color scheme. 10/07/24 | Insider Warns Red Sox Failure To Keep Playoff Legend In Boston Was 'Obvious' Mistake. The Boston Red Sox haven't been in the postseason for the last three years, and that isn't supposed to be the norm for such a storied franchise. Gone are stars of that team like Xander Bogaerts, J.D. Martinez, and Kyle Schwarber, and that's not even to mention former Boston superstar Mookie Betts, who was gone even sooner. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/red-sox/boston-red-sox-news... |
