4/14/25 | Sasaki showing promise with each MLB start. Roki Sasaki wasn’t expected to be the ace of the rotation when the Dodgers signed him in January, and so far, his results have been a mixed bag. Sasaki’s big league debut saw him toss just three innings against the Cubs where he allowed five walks. After a brief, yet disastrous start against Detroit for his first start at Dodger Stadium, Sasaki has tossed nine innings over his past two starts, only allowing two earned runs while striking out seven and walking four. In the midst of their blowout loss at the hands of the Chicago Cubs, the Los Angeles Dodgers managed to have a bit of fun. The Dodgers actually hung around early thanks to 5.0 innings of one-run ball from rookie Roki Sasaki, only for their bullpen to collapse in spectacular fashion. Chicago led 11-0 by the time veteran infielder Miguel Rojas took the mound in the top of the eighth inning.
