10/18/24 | Bleacher Report's 'unpopular' trade candidate for Red Sox takes it too far. The 2024 Boston Red Sox learned they can have too much of a good thing. Boston's lineup is packed with lefty hitters, which created lineup imbalance issues all season. Multiple Sox players have been floated as trade candidates to open lineup spots for right-handed bats this offseason. Triston Casas and Wilyer Abreu are among the options, but one sticks out above the rest as an exceedingly bad idea. Source: https://bosoxinjection.com/bleacher-report-unpopul... |
10/14/24 | Projected $5.1 Million Superstar Could Be Red Sox's Perfect Trade Acquisition. If the Boston Red Sox are going to go after a right-handed bat this winter, they may as well try and sign one of the very best bats out there. The Red Sox lineup was solid in 2024, but it was also far too dependent on lefties. On any given night, Boston could look like Murderers' Row against a righty, then turn around the next night and bat like a Triple-A team against a lefty. Many have bandied about the idea of the Red Sox trading one of their young lefty bats (Triston Casas, Jarren Duran, Wilyer Abreu, Roman Anthony, etc.) for a starting pitcher. 10/13/24 | Red Sox slugger first baseman speaks on possibly being traded this offseason. Boston Red Sox first baseman and slugger Triston Casas is one of the best players on the roster, and one of the players with the most rumors about getting traded. For Casas, he doesn't really care, and respects whatever the team wants to do. “I think that the team and the organization should continue to strive for a championship whether I'm in the plans or not… I want to be a part of the plans to make that happen, but if not, and they want to seek an outside source for me to try to bolster the roster, that's well within their ability.” Casas played in only 63 games this season, and hit .241/.337/.462/.800 with 13 homers. 10/12/24 | How Triston Casas Responded To Red Sox Trade Speculation Question. The Red Sox need to improve next season, and that might force them to make tough decisions. Boston's top brass understood the fans deserved more from the team after the club missed the postseason for the third season in a row. Chief baseball officer Craig Breslow acknowledged the team needs to better balance short-term and long-term outcomes in what will be a pivotal offseason. One question that came up about the Red Sox's offseason was whether or not Triston Casas, who is eligible for a contract extension, could be traded if Boston could acquire a bona fide ace.
