Boston selected slugger Bobby Dalbec in the fourth round of the 2016 Major League Baseball June Amateur Draft. Dalbec has spent most of the last two seasons with the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox. 9/08/24 | Red Sox infielder Bobby Dalbec designated for assignment. Bobby Dalbec, who hit 47 home runs over parts of five seasons for the Red Sox, was designated for assignment on Sunday. Dalbec hit .244 with an .810 OPS, 33 homers and 94 RBIs in his first 156 major league games from 2020-21 and appeared to be part of the Red Sox' future.
