| 3/10/25 | New Orleans Saints first-year coach Kellen Moore comfortable with Derek Carr at quarterback. On the day Moore was announced as head coach, he said he first wanted to meet with Carr and get to know the quarterback, before any decisions were made. Having done that, Moore and Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis revealed at the Scouting Combine in February that Carr would start at quarterback in 2025. While calling the contract restructure the "business side of it," Moore said there's a belief that successful path can be created for Carr and the Saints offense, which last season averaged 320.1 yards per game (21st) and 19.9 points (tied for 24th).
