8/24/24 Chris Taylor to have reduced role for Dodgers. Chris Taylor returned to the Los Angeles Dodgers this week after missing nearly a month due to a left groin strain. Before his injury, the 33-year-old was primarily seeing time at third base with Max Muncy on the shelf. Now that the All-Star slugger is back, Taylor will have a reduced role with the team for the rest of the season. “It's going to be certainly the defensive versatility,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of Taylor's role.

8/24/24 Dodgers say Jason Heyward’s presence will be missed. The veteran outfielder was DFA’d on Thursday when Chris Taylor was activated off the IL, and shortstop Miguel Rojas expects the clubhouse void will have a significant impact on Freddie Freeman and others.

The Los Angeles Dodgers placed Chris Taylor on the 10-day injured list with a left groin strain and recalled James Outman from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to their series finale against the San Francisco Giants. Taylor suffered the groin injury in the seventh inning of Wednesday's matchup as he rounded first base on an attempt to leg out a hustle double. 7/24/24 Dodgers injuries keep mounting with Chris Taylor latest to go down. Chris Taylor ensured the Los Angeles Dodgers would not be no-hit by the San Francisco Giants, but it came as a cost as he immediately was removed from Wednesday's game due to a groin injury. Taylor grimaced and began to labor as he rounded first base on an attempt to leg out a hustle double with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and a trainer went out to check on Taylor, who gingerly walked off the field after a brief conversation. The SportsNet LA broadcast captured Taylor appearing to motion toward his right thigh upon getting into the dugout.

7/06/24 Dodgers May Have a New Solution to Replace Max Muncy as Third Base. The Los Angeles Dodgers have been without their primary third base, Max Mucny, for almost two months. Muncy has been sidelined due to a Grade 1 right oblique strain, and while he is progressing, we may not see him on the field until another few more weeks. In the meantime, a variety of players have filled his void, including veteran Chris Taylor, Kiké Hernández, L.A.'s newest addition, Cavan Biggio, and sometimes Miguel Rojas.

7/01/24 Is Dodgers utility man Chris Taylor nearing a turnaround?. Lost in the shuffle of the Los Angeles Dodgers' 10-4 drubbing at the hands on the San Francisco Giants on Sunday was the strong showing from Chris Taylor. The utilityman turned in a 2-for-3 performance, including a fifth inning homer, and a walk. Taylor hasn't only been the Dodgers' worst hitter in 2024, he's been one of the league's worst. There are 365 hitters with at least 100 plate appearances thus far.

6/30/24 Andy Pages Not Injured; Dodgers Valued Chris Taylor's Baserunning In Extra Innings Vs. Giants. Chris Taylor replaced Pages to start the 10th inning as the automatic runner placed on second base. Given Pages' contributions, there was some reason to worry such a decision was based on a potential injury.

6/16/24 Dodgers' Dave Roberts Commends Chris Taylor's Attitude While Going Through Massive Slump. Los Angeles Dodgers veteran Chris Taylor has handled a frustrating season with true professionalism. “I don't know how I would have handled this earlier in my career,” Taylor said. Manager Dave Roberts was an outfielder during his playing days and told reporters after Friday's 4-3 win over the Kansas City Royals that he couldn't imagine going through what Taylor has endured this season. When Taylor hit a solo home run in the fifth inning, it was his first of the season and first since Sept. 7, 2023 — a span of 165 plate appearances.

5/25/24 Dodgers Vs. Reds Game Preview: Chris Taylor Starts Again Looking To Avoid 4-Game Losing Streak. The Los Angles Dodgers have a three-game losing streak for just the second time this season after they dropped the series opener to the Cincinnati Reds on Friday by a score of 9-6. The last time they lost three games in a row was back on April 20, which was immediately followed by their 14-2 record during the end of April and into May. The Dodgers' red-hot pace has since cooled down considerably since they began a span of 13 consecutive games. Their seven-game winning streak came to an end and they finished with a 7-6 record during that stretch. They still have a 6.5 game lead over the Padres in the standings, which is only behind the Philadelphia Phillies for the largest division lead in baseball.

5/22/24 Dodgers Seeing Recent Improvement With Chris Taylor. Chris Taylor was expected to be a regular starter in the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup this season but has seen his playing time decline of late due to prolonged struggles. Entering the series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Taylor last started on May 16. It was just Taylor's third hit of the month but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts noted his at-bats have been “better.”

5/20/24 Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Searching For Ways To Give Chris Taylor At-Bats. It is no secret that Chris Taylor has had a disappointing 2024 season for the Los Angeles Dodgers thus far. A big factor in Taylor's struggles this season is his 50% strikeout rate in just 56 at-bats.

5/16/24 Dodgers Roster Decision: Chris Taylor Or James Outman Once Jason Heyward Returns. The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the midst of a blistering stretch, expanding upon their lead in the National League West, while playing complimentary baseball up and down the roster. The veteran outfielder was signed to a one-year, $9 million deal, but has been out since late March with an injury. Over the course of 2023, he carried a 121 wRC+, but it's his platoon splits against right-handed pitchers that makes him a valuable option when healthy. What Heyward can do for the team is boost their lineup against righties, while giving Dodgers manager Dave Roberts another pinch hit option that he can rely on in late-game spots.

5/14/24 'It's tough': Slumping Chris Taylor's playing time cut as Dodgers face roster questions. Chris Taylor spent his offseason focused on what made his swing so effective. A quarter of the way through the season, he's having a career-worst year.

5/13/24 Dodgers' slumping Chris Taylor has seen his playing time disappear. A key component of the Dodgers' bench the past seven years, Chris Taylor has been relegated to the far end of that bench this year, anchored there by an unsightly .071 batting average. The emergence of Andy Pages has eaten away at Taylor's playing time. Taylor hasn't started a game since May and has just seven at-bats in the month of May. “I think it's more performance, matchup,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of the factors behind Taylor's lack of playing time.
